Australian Bureau of Statistics reveals that 19% of deaths in Australia is caused by conventional drug-based medical practice. That makes it 1 in every 5 deaths and these are only cases that were reported and documented. The number of deaths each year that are potentially preventable through individualized care goes into thousands – 27,000 in 2016; (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare). Adverse reaction to drugs is the reason for 2 to 5% of admissions to a hospital, with fatality in patients with adverse drug reaction from 2-12%. That is a lot of unnecessary, preventable deaths and suffering.
Research has also documented that individuals who experience disease have higher rates of depression, anxiety, and social isolation. The opposite is also true. Those experiencing depression and social isolation tend to be more prone to disease.
We want to see an InstRAM health promotion centre in every major city in Australia. A place for healing, education, research, and social involvement; a space for social interaction to counter social isolation and depression, so prevalent in our society, a place of support, easy access to reliable health information and treatment. Our aim is, where possible and depending upon funds available, to also offer free and subsidized services.
